The Red Cross is in critical need of blood donors and Milford United Methodist Church is answering that call with a blood drive Friday, June 27 from 11am to 5pm.

“This will be our 8th blood drive since we restarted them in February of 2023,” says Wayne Loder, Blood Drive Coordinator for MUMC. “With the help of our church membership and donors from the surrounding area, we have been very successful and the Red Cross has recognized us a Premier Blood Partner, a high honor.”

Based on estimates from the Red Cross, MUMC blood drives have saved the lives of as many as 759 patients in need of blood transfusions. The Red Cross has set MUMC’s June 27th blood drive goal at 35 units of blood. Each unit of blood can save up to three lives.

With the blood drive less than a month off, MUMC encourages all interested to sign up now to reserve the time slot most convenient for them. Donors can sign up through the Red Cross donor app, online at redcrossblood.org, or by calling 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767). The drive code is: MUMC.

Those who sign up and give blood at the drive will receive an e-gift card of $15 good at a number of choice stores of their choosing.
