Senior Eco Tour for Eagan Residents 55+

On Wednesday, August 1, Eagan residents, age 55 or older, can participate in a tour to learn how local agencies invest in our environment. Lunch and comfortable transportation to all locations are included as part of the tour. The cost is $6 per registrant.

Participants will first go to the Eagan Civic Arena to see the recently-installed geothermal system, which saves energy and reduces the City's energy costs. Next, the tour will be visiting Kedem Garden and Nursery in Hastings, a certified organic farm that specializes in organic produce and roses.

Participants will enjoy a picnic lunch at the pavilion at Eagan Central Park.

The last stop will be Kowalski's Market in Eagan, where participants will see behind the scenes how a grocery store operates and reduces its environmental footprint. Efforts such as recycling, food shelf donation partnerships and other waste reducing initiatives will be explained.
