"Dealt a Deadly Hand"

Get out your lucky hat, because the Eagan Theater Company is about to unveil a mystery dinner show that spoofs the movie “Casablanca” and the American dream of winning the jackpot. The curtain rises on Friday, March 16, 2012 at the Eagan Community Center located at 1501 Central Parkway, Eagan, MN 55123. Proceeds from the dinner theater event will benefit Eagan 55 Plus/Seniors and the Eagan Theatre Company.

"Dealt a Deadly Hand: Murder at the Pocono Royale Casino," (written by Tony Schwartz & Marylou Ambrose) takes place at Rick’s club, the first privately-owned imaginary gambling casino in Eagan, Minn. Rick dreams of striking it rich—then a crafty senator and lobbyist try to claim the land and his gold-digging ex-wife Lola shows up. Throw in a two-faced lawyer, an Australian Croc Chaser with bad luck, and two little old ladies on a gambling mission, and "making a killing" takes on a whole new meaning.

Will the senator and lobbyist take over the casino? Will the Croc Chaser win back his farm? Will the Portabella sisters accomplish their mission? Will the lawyer decide how to play his cards? Will Lola and Rick get back together for richer or poorer? And will Rick ever be cured of his Bogart complex? Be ready to cast your vote because it’s up to the audience to solve the crime!

What can you expect from an audience participation murder mystery? FUN-the minute you walk in the door! Doors to Rick’s casino open at 6 p.m. when you’ll get a chance to gamble (all-for-fun, of course) and mingle with the players. The main show follows dinner.

Tickets for the dinner and show are $35. To register for this event, call Eagan Parks and Recreation at 651-675-5500 OR register in person at 3838 Pilot Knob Road, Eagan, MN 55122.
