Tree Trimming

For the next several weeks Streets Maintenance crews will be pruning trees and shrubs located within rights of way in the northcentral and southwest quadrants of the City. View the 2021-22 tree trimming map [PDF] for location details and visit the Vegetation Management page to learn more.

Homeward Hills Road Temporary Closure

A section of Homeward Hills Road has been closed between Tanglewood Drive and Gristmill Road since Thursday morning. Crews are replacing a section of underground sanitary sewer and expect the road to be open over the weekend. A detour around the closure is marked with signage.

Mosquito Control District Report

In 2021 the Metropolitan Mosquito Control District (MMCD) inspected over 70,000 breeding sites for mosquito larvae and applied 150,593 acres worth of treatments. They also treated 284,863 catch basins in the seven-county metro. View Eden Prairie's 2021 MMCD Report [PDF].

Staff News

The City recently welcomed Kari Knoll as senior communications coordinator and Ben Schneider as planner I.

Kari comes to the City with 12 years of government communications experience, having previously served in Eden Prairie from 2007-2013 as communications coordinator, before working for the City of St. Paul and the City of Minnetonka. She earned a bachelor’s degree in anthropology from Wheaton College and mini-MBA in business communications from the University of St. Thomas. She is also accredited in business communications by the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC).

Ben came to Eden Prairie from the City of Jordan. He earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and master's degree in urban and regional planning from the University of Minnesota Humphrey School of Public Affairs.
