Wirth Beach Parking Lot Closes Next Week

The Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board will close the parking lot at Wirth Beach along with the pavilion access road for seal coating two days during the week of Aug. 13. 

Seal coating is dependent on favorable weather conditions, but is currently scheduled between 9:00 p.m. Tuesday evening (Aug. 14) and Thursday morning (Aug. 16). If these dates change, an update will be posted.

During the closure, park visitors are encouraged to arrive early to park in the boat launch parking lot or on the street in the neighborhood from Xerxes Avenue North to the east. It should be noted that Glenwood Ave is designated as a no parking road.
