Any eligible voter may vote by absentee ballot for any reason, and absentee ballots can be cast by mail or in person.Β Check theΒ City website forΒ the requirements and process for voting absentee.

Vote Early By Mail
Voters must fill out aΒ paper applicationΒ to receive a ballot. Paper applications are available in English, Spanish, Hmong, Somali, Vietnamese, Russian, Chinese, Oromo, Khmer, and Amharic.
Voters do not need to be registered to vote to apply for an absentee ballot. To make the process easier, you may want toΒ registerΒ orΒ ensure you are registeredΒ before applying for an absentee ballot. Once your absentee ballot arrives in the mail, completed ballots must be received on or before Election Day, Nov 2. Voters can return ballots by mail or in person.

Vote Early In Person
You may vote by absentee ballot at City Hall (2nd floor, 7800 Golden Valley Rd) beginning on the dates noted above for the general election. Office hours are Monday-Friday, 8 am-4:30 pm.
Closer to election days, City Hall will be open extended hours for absentee voting (sometimes called βearly votingβ):

Saturday, Oct 30, 10 am-3 pm
Monday, Nov 1, 8 am-5 pm
