Human Services Commission

The Golden Valley Human Services Commission plans and holds fundraisers and events to help raise money to meet human service needs in the community and advises the City Council on allocation of funds.

The Human Services Commission currently has one open position. Applications are open until Aug 27.

Planning Commission

The Planning Commission advises, recommends, and assists the Golden Valley City Council in matters relating to planning and growth of the City, including issues relating to the social, economic, and physical environment. The Planning Commission recommends Council approval or denial of proposed land use changes, taking into consideration land use ordinances and the Comprehensive Plan.

The Planning Commission currently has one open position. Applications are open until Aug 27.

Police Employment, Accountability, and Community Engagement (PEACE) Commission

The PEACE Commission was recently created by the Golden Valley City Council to help the Golden Valley Police Department innovate and transform its provision of public safety services based on community input and needs, and to assure that the department provides inclusive, community-centered service.

The PEACE Commission is recruiting for all positions. Golden Valley community members can now apply to join until Oct 5.
