Golden Valley's Volunteer Day Is Oct. 1
Lilac, chimney swifts and buckthorn are included in the day organized by Envision Connection Project Bridge Builders.

Golden Valley will hold a Volunteer Day on Saturday, Oct. 1, which will include two hours of trash pick-up and activities for children.
The day will start at 9 a.m. with lilac planting along Highway 55. The planting will continue until 2 p.m.
Other events include a chalk-drawing contest, presentations about chimney swifts and buckthorn, and litter pick-up at the edge of the Laurel Avenue Ponds.

The litter pick-up will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Volunteers should meet at Lions Park by Western Ave and Louisiana Avenue North.

The city needs your name, address, phone number, email and the activity you are interested in.
If a family member wishes to take part in the chalk-drawing event, specify their age. If you are interested in the buckthorn or trash portions of the day, you need to provide your T-shirt size (S, M, L or XL).
