At a time when our local food shelves are in great need, 70 to 80 middle and high School youth will come together at St Joe's Church at 36th and Boone in New Hope to take part in a 30-Hour Fast.

The youth are doing this to raise funds, collect food donations and most of all, highlight awareness that many go to sleep hungry in our community.

The Fast starts on Friday, March 2nd, at 1 p.m., while the students are at school and will continue through Saturday, March 3rd, at 7 p.m. when they will break the fast together. While doing the 30-Hour Fast, the youth will be divided into teams and will participate in many community service projects throughout the day.

If you are interested in supporting the 30-Hour Fast participants, the students will go door-to-door in New Hope and surrounding areas in the early evening of Friday, March 2, asking for food donations that they will turn into on Saturday morning.

If one of the students comes knocking and has a card from St. Joe's, please give what you can. If it happens that the youth miss your home and donation, food and monetary donations will also be accepted at St. Joe's throughout Saturday, March 3rd.

St Joe's is located at the corner of 36th and Boone in New Hope. Monetary donations may also be mailed to Parish Community of St Joseph, 8701 36th Ave. N., New Hope, MN 55427, and will be passed along in full to PRISM.

Thank you in advance for your support—and words of encouragement should you see these young people in action over the 30-Hour Fast time period.
