Man Charged with Drug Possession in Golden Valley
Police say Shaun Kenneth Anderson had methamphetamine and an anti-seizure medication in his car when he was stopped March 18.

A St. Paul man is facing felony drug charges after Golden Valley police say they found methamphetamine and Clonazepam in his car during a traffic stop.
Shaun Kenneth Anderson, 34, is charged with two counts of fifth-degree drug possession, each of which carries a maximum penalty of five years in prison and a $10,000 fine.
According to the criminal complaint, compiled by Golden Valley Police Detective David Larson, police were on routine patrol in the Dover Hill area just after 11:30 p.m. March 18 when they spotted a car parked in a fire lane.

Police checked the license plate and found that the registered owner had a suspended driverβs license.
Officers followed the car as it left the area, then stopped it. They confirmed that the driver was the registered owner and asked Anderson, his passenger, if he had a valid license.

Anderson told police he wasnβt sure about his driving status. When officers checked, they found two outstanding warrants charging him with possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia in Minnetonka and driving with a suspended license in Minneapolis.
A subsequent search of the car turned up methamphetamine, a hypodermic needle, a scale containing drug residue, a bottle containing Clonazepam β a prescription anti-seizure medication β a pipe and a key ring with a container holding two Adderall pills, according to the complaint.
Anderson is free on bond. His next court appearance is scheduled March 29 in Hennepin County District Court.
