Basketball School Takes Steps to Move to Golden Valley
The Golden Valley Planning Commission will meet Monday night to discuss granting the MN School of Basketball a conditional use permit.

Brian Ammann wants to move the Minnesota School of Basketball to the warehouse on the 8000 block of 7th Avenue North in Golden Valley. But Ammann, the basketball school's owner and director, needs a conditional use permit before the move can become reality.
In their meeting Monday night, the Golden Valley Planning Commission will review Ammann's request.
According to commission documents, the warehouse is located in a light industrial zoning district of the city. In order for the Minnesota School of Basketball to move there, the business must obtain a conditional use permit.

If the school moves to Golden Valley, it will become one of two locations in the state. The school has been open in Apple Valley for eight years and had a location in Plymouth, according to commission documents. The new Golden Valley location will replace the Plymouth facility.
"The business will provide proper training, footwork and skill instruction in the sport of basketball," Ammann said in a letter to the City. "The nature of this business is going to be individual or small group training."
