UPDATED: Man Dies After Being Recovered from Courage Center Pool

The Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office reports that the man who was found in the pool has died. The Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office will release his identity.

An 88-year-old man was pulled from an indoor pool at the Courage Center in Golden Valley, the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office announced.

Deputies responded to a water emergency at the center at 4 p.m. Thursday. The man, who was unresponsive when he was recovered, was taken to North Memorial Hospital.

The Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office, Golden Valley Police Department, Golden Valley Fire Department and North Memorial Ambulance responded to the scene.
