West Metro, Golden Valley Fire Departments Assist with Industrial Fire in Brooklyn Park
The fire happened at Modern Manufacturing & Engineering Monday, March 18.

An industrial fire at Modern Manufacturing & Engineering in Brooklyn Park resulted in mutual aid from area fire departments β including West Metro and Golden Valley.
The Brooklyn Park Fire Department initially responded to the report of a fire around 9:30 p.m. on the 9300 block of Winnetka Avenue, according to Twin Cities Fire Wire. It was more than two hours before crews were able to clear the scene.
βEmployees first reported that there was magnesium on fire and another reported possible chemicals involved,β Brooklyn Park Assistant Chief Todd Seitz told Twin Cities Fire Wire, who later said the fire βturned out to be in a waste oil burner that caught fire.β

Maple Grove, Osseo, and West Metro Fire Departments assisted onsite with the fire. Due to the second alarm that was issued, Rogers, Golden Valley, Anoka-Champlin and Brooklyn Center were βon the second alarm assignment.β
