Elevated temperatures can cause health risks, including a heightened risk of heat stroke, and health officials are urging residents to remain hydrated and take extra precautions if extended outdoor activity is planned.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air-conditioned environments, and anyone overcome by the heat should be moved to a shaded or climate-controlled area.

Residents are also encouraged to check in on their neighbors, particularly the elderly and those with health conditions.
