Chinese Government Invites Orono High School Students to Beijing

All eight of the students going on the trip have completed Chinese III at Orono High School and are looking forward to testing their language skills outside of the classroom.

Eight students and their teacher are traveling to China as guests of the Chinese government.

The group will be participating in the Chinese Bridge Summer Camp, which is sponsored by the Chinese government to promote communication between the youth of China and youth in the United States. While the students are at the camp they will receive language classes for three hours a day and cultural studies for about 90 minutes each a day.

Sightseeing and cultural activities will also be a part of the program, and each student will be assigned a language partner for tutoring and exploring Beijing.

All of the students on the trip have completed Chinese III at Orono High School and are looking forward to testing their language skills outside of the classroom.
