Harry Potter Fans Jam Theaters for a Midnight Farewell

Lines began forming hours before the last Harry Potter movie was released at midnight.

Movie houses throughout the Metro saw long lines for midnight showings of the latest, and final, Harry Potter movie.

At 11 p.m. the line outside the Excelsior Dock Theatre stretched about a block. Plenty of parents were sprinkled in as well, and Potter fans of all ages wore costumes in celebration of the film's release.

John from Minnetonka and his little brother teamed up in a crowd favorite centaur—the unofficial costume contest winner.

“That's my little brother," John said of the horse's back end. "He's kind of a butt."
