Letter: Mark Gaylord Will Continue Excelsior's Momentum
Letters to the editor can be sent to Jay.Corn@patch.com.

To the editor,
With no incumbent running for Mayor, Excelsior residents will need to think about the qualities they want in our next city leader.
Over the past few years, the city has enjoyed a sustained and thoughtfully controlled period of growth, resulting in new retail shops, new restaurants, our own brewery, the promise of a new library, a new hotel and a major grocery store.
All these are a fitting legacy for Nick Ruehl and the present City Council, but it will be important to support the mayoral candidate who will sustain the momentum for growth and will continue to exercise the financial discipline that has resulted in minimal levy increases for city residents, and strengthened the city’s financial position.
Mark Gaylord is that candidate.
A ten-year resident of Excelsior, Mark’s service as chairman of the Planning Commission has allowed him to interface with the residents, business people and government of the city, helping to develop and support the exciting events that are adding to the vibrancy of our city. I believe his approach to utilizing city resources, and managing it’s costs will maintain the momentum that makes Excelsior a unique place to live, work and play.
Please join me in voting for Mark Gaylord for Mayor so we can continue to enjoy planned progressive growth, sustained by fiscal responsibility and a deep caring for our community.
A.J. Wilson
