Orono Students Among Winners of National Essay Contest
Trio of Orono High School students received a Nook tablet and will have their essays published in e-book.

Three Orono students are among the 100 student winners in "Best of the Road," an essay contest sponsored by Rand McNally and USA Today.
Lydia Farmer, Etta Moline and Jeni Ronald were semifinalists and received a Barnes & Noble NOOK tablet. In addition, they will have their essays published in "America the Beautiful" eBook on NOOK. They are the students of teachers English teacher Sarah Cole and Orono Middle School social studies teacher Jared Shogren.
In up to 600 words, students were asked the answer, "Where's the one place in the United States that inspires you?"
