Tips from Public Lead to Arrest of Two Boat Burglars

At least 16 thefts that have taken place on boats docked on Lake Minnetonka in the past week.

The Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office is thanking the public for providing information concerning a .

The tips were valuable in the investigation and led to the arrest of two adults who have been charged in the complaints.

In the past week, there have been at least 16 thefts that have taken place on boats docked on Lake Minnetonka. The incidents have happened on boats docked at marinas or private residences. Items stolen include alcohol, tools, and electronics such as radios and televisions.

The spree of thefts took place July 24-28 in the following cities: Tonka Bay, Orono (Smith Bay and Brown’s Bay), Mound, and Spring Park. 

Because this in an active investigation, no further information is available at this time, and the Sheriff’s Office and several other law enforcement agencies continue to investigate.
