Traffic Snarled After Dog Killed by Car at Busy Intersection
Accident occurred just after 1 p.m.

Motorists driving through Wayzata's busiest intersection experienced moderate traffic delays Tuesday afternoon after a vehicle struck and killed a dog.
The incident occured just after 1 p.m. underneath the Hwy. 12 overpass at the intersection of Hwy. 101 and Wayzata Boulevard. The most significant backup was of eastbound traffic exiting Hwy. 12 onto Wayzata Boulevard.
Traffic headed southbound on Hwy. 101 into Wayzata was also affected.

The dog was wearing a collar and appeared to be a pitbull.
The Wayzata Police Department arrived on scene minutes after the accident to control traffic and clear the scene.
