The victim told police that Olson began teaching her when she was in ninth grade and started giving her private lessons in 11th grade. Her parents paid him for the sessions, and Olson had the authority to assign or remove students from performances.

According to the criminal complaint, Olson began messaging the victim on Instagram. The conversations started seemingly innocently but escalated to invitations to his home in Lakeville.

Olson threatened suicide if she did not respond or visit him and showed up at her workplace several times, police said.

He also texted the victim that she was "almost eighteen" and asked how she would feel if something happened between them, investigators said.

The victim told police that during the summer and fall of 2022, she and Olson had sex five to eight times at his residence while she was still under 18.

When questioned by police, Olson admitted to being the victim’s teacher. When asked directly if he had sex with her, he replied, "Yeah," the complaint states.
