The council took action during a special virtual meeting on Thursday, Feb. 17. The decision is connected to an ongoing decline in COVID-19 infections reported by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC). The most recent data reported by the CDC shows Hennepin County’s 14-day case rate has dropped to 66.4 per 10,000 residents. That is the lowest reported positivity rate since November 2021. Minnetonka’s COVID-19 case rate is 70.6, which is also the lowest rate tracked since November.

During its special meeting, the council directed the city manager to continue to provide frequent updates regarding the COVID-19 pandemic and community infection rates. For continued updates, visit the city’s COVID-19 information page.
