Grief, Guts & Glory: Rachel Kerr Schneider Shares Message of Hope

Local woman shares her journey, including her fight with ALS and the untimely death of her husband.

A local woman will share the story of her journey with ALS, or Lou Gehrigs disease, on Saturday, Nov. 3.

Rachel Kerr Schneider will present “Grief, Guts & Glory,” beginning at 9 a.m. as the featured speaker at a women’s breakfast hosted by Mount Calvary Lutheran Church.

ALS is a progressive deterioration of the muscles which ultimately results in the loss of breathing. Schneider's husband died last September, three years after her diagnosis.

"I’ll be sharing our story with humor, sincerity and sadness to encourage and uplift other women, as you deal with challenges in your own life," she said.

The goal is a message of hope and grace to support others in strengthening their relationships with family, friends and faith.

Location: Mount Calvary Lutheran Church (301 County Road 19, Excelsior)

Cost: $15. Tickets can be purchased at the church.
