
The Minnetonka High School baseball team lost to Rocori 4-1 in the second round of the state tournament Friday. Later that afternoon, they beat Coon Rapids 6-0 to take third in the tournament.
The Skippers entered the state tournament as the #2 seed and defeated Rochester Mayo High School in the first round. The Skippers were down to their final out and a 2-0 deficit, but rallied in extra innings to win 3-2.
Minnetonka advanced to state after winning the Section 2AAA title on June 5. They had to defeat Shakopee twice in the double-elimination tournament. The team has a 21-6 record and is coached by Paul Twenge.
