Minnetonka Students Work to Serve the Greater Good Through 'We Act'
The program goes hand-in-hand with "We Day" Minnesota, which is scheduled for Oct. 8 at Xcel Energy Center.
Minnetonka middle school and high school students are giving back at home and around the world through the "We Act" program.
According to the program website, We Act is a full-year engagement program and support system for youth, schools, individuals, families and companies to turn inspiration into action. We Act goes hand-in-hand with "We Day" Minnesota, which is an event that brings together thousands of youth from 400 schools across the state. The school district partnered with Free the Children to offer the program to its students.
According to the district, groups that join We Act are asked to make a commitment to doing one local and one global action or service project in support of any issue or organization:
When the projects are completed they will report online about what they have accomplished. Schools and student groups that complete these requirements are eligible for tickets to “We Day” Minnesota on October 8, 2013 at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul.
