'NOT ME!' Safety Training Is Back at the Marsh
Saturday's class teaches the basics on self-defense: how to avoid an attack and protect yourself from violence.

Statistically, one in four women are attacked during their lifetime.
A class offered at this Saturday, March 31 focuses on material that can prevent an attack or teach a woman to escape from an attacker in almost every instance.
Al Horner, founder of the "NOT ME!" Program and former Navy Seal, teaches practical, real-life self-defense techniques that focus on avoiding being in a threatening situation in the first place.

"Many times, daughters will not talk to their moms about bad things that have happened." he said. "But when they have attended classes together, they have a common language so that it makes it easier for the daughter to talk to the mom in a open and trusting way."
The class is offered on Saturday from 1-4 p.m. Cost is $79 for those 18 and older and $59 for youth 13-17 years of age.
Two hours of the class will be about violence prevention and the other hour will teach you how to protect yourself in a violent situation.
