St. Louis Blues Select Minnetonka H.S. Grad in 2013 NHL Draft

Minnetonka High School graduate Thomas Vannelli was selected in the second round of Sunday's 2013 NHL Draft by the St. Louis Blues with the 47th overall pick.

Vannelli, who was a finalist for Minnesota Mr. Hockey, scored 35 points in 27 games during his final season with the Skippers. He also won a silver medal at the World Under-18 Championships in Russia, where he scored two goals and one assist.

Vannelli has committed to attend the University of Minnesota. Vannelli could sign a three-year, entry-level deal with the Blues in the coming weeks.
