
Ida Blanche (Rodrick) Wiese, age 82, passed away Saturday, July 7, 2012 at the Three Links Care Center in Northfield following a stroke and extended illness. Ida was born February 27, 1930 in Northfield, daughter of Charles Joseph Rodrick and Florence Meta (Culver) Rodrick. She attended school in Northfield and graduated from Northfield High School in 1948.
She married Maynard Wiese in 1949 and over the years lived in Northfield, Mankato, Minneapolis, Elko, Vernon Center, and La Grange, IL. Ida operated the Riverside Café on the west side of Northfield for several years and also worked for Honeywell and Montgomery Wards. She enjoyed genealogy, crossword puzzles, online computer games, antiques, reading and camping. For many years she was the primary caregiver to her husband and mother-in-law. She was active at the Northfield Senior Center and volunteered her time there for several years until her illness.
Ida Wiese is survived by her children Douglas (Constance) Wiese of Northfield, Deborah (David) Miller of Northfield, Dale (Kim) Wiese of San Jose, CA; sister Florence Berglund of Loyal, WI; brother Joseph Rodrick of Denver, CO; 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Maynard; siblings Rose Montgomery, Daniel Rodrick, and Rita Smith Lace.

Family graveside services will be held at Oaklawn Cemetery. Arrangements by the Bierman Funeral Home of Northfield.
