Laura Goodwin won the ‘Volunteer of the Year Award’ for 2010.
Laura founded the A+ Art Club, which brings teens and young adults living on the autism spectrum together with professional artists to explore all art mediums. Laura has put in hundreds of hours getting this program up and running, with the help of Meg Ogala. Teen mentors from the high school and also engage in this club.
Beyond building art skills, participants are also building a social network, often a challenge for those living with autism. Laura is a champion of bring art to those often marginalized.
