Summer Camp at River Bend Nature Center

River Bend Nature Center is getting ready for Summer Camp 2012 which begins in just over three weeks. There is still time to get your child registered for one of these fun and adventurous nature camps. The camps are designed for children from ages one to 16 and are in half-day, full-day, and overnight away camp formats. Our two overnight camps offer kids ages 10-12 and 13-16 the opportunity to go camping, hiking, and touring at off-site locations under the guidance of one of our naturalists and intern naturalists. Junior Naturalists camp for pre-teens will venture north to Itasca State Park to see the headwaters of the mighty Mississippi River. Teen Camp will visit the Porcupine Mountain Wilderness State Park in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. Each away camp starts with one day of preparation and planning at River Bend and then departs on Tuesday to camp locations. Meals during the trip, transportation, camping, and activity fees are all included in the camp fee.
