Northfield Students Make Mark in Regional Spelling Bee

Though eighth-graders Hannah Mahr and Olivia Riggins didn't spell their way to Washington, D.C., for the Scripps National Spelling Bee, they walked away a little smarter.

The two competed on Tuesday in Rochester for the final round of the regional spelling bee. Roshini Asirvatham from Rochester won the round. She also won in 2010 as a sixth-grader.
