Many of you have probably noticed our friends are back.

If you've taken a look at sunny spots on the exterior of your homes, you've probably seen plenty of boxelder bugs.

As most of us know, these creepy-crawlies always find a way into our homes. While they don't bite, they are a nuisance and can leave stains with their excrement.

Penny Hillemann, however, who blogs over at Penelopedia, knows much more about nature and its workings than I do.

As I entertained the idea of writing about the return of the boxelder bugs a few days ago, I saw she posted a fairly alarming video last night of what she estimates to be more than 1,000 boxelder bugs on the brick exterior of her home. (The video is attached to this post.)
