UPDATED: Burned Body in Vehicle Identified as Northfield Man

The body of a man found in a burning van on Sunday at the intersection of 150th St. W. and Acorn Trail in Cannon City Township has been identified as Michael Fraser of Northfield.

The body of a man found in a burning van on Sunday at the intersection of 150th St. W. and Acorn Trail in Cannon City Township has been identified as Michael Fraser of Northfield, according to the Rice County Sheriff's Office.

Fraser, 45, was identifed through dental records by the Minnesota Regional Medical Examiner's Office. Toxicology tests are still pending and the cause and manner of death are pending as well.

The Sheriff's Office and Faribault Fire Department responded to a vehicle fire call around 5:20 a.m. Sunday and arrived to find a body inside the vehicle. On Monday, the body was identified as male.

There are currently no suspects and there's no indication if authorities suspect foul play. The case remains under investigation by the sheriff's office and the Minnesota State Fire Marshal's Office.

The Rice County Sheriff's Office is asking for help in collecting information about Michael Fraser.
