Newsletter: Man Makes Terroristic Threats Towards Police
The latest news from Dakota County Sheriff Dave Bellows.
A man threatening to bring a gun to the Northern Service Center in Dakota County resulted in a rapid and large response from several law enforcement agencies last week. The threat drew the response of about 40 law enforcement officers from the DCSO, West St. Paul, South St. Paul, Mendota Heights, Inver Grove Heights and the Minnesota State Patrol to the NSC.
The building contains a large number of county staff and courtroom facilities servicing the public. The entire building and campus were placed on lockdown and a floor-by-floor search was conducted. The suspect, identified as Terry Lee Debates, was located on the third floor and taken into custody. He was formally charged with Terroristic Threats by the County Attorney’s Office.
