Join Northfield Police Tuesday for 'Night to Unite'

Local law enforcement officials are encouraging residents to collaborate.

Northfield officials feel that when families collaborate and communicate frequently, it has a positive effect on the community, as a whole.

That's one of the reasons they're hosting a "Night to Unite" on Aug. 2. Supported by the Northfield Police Department, Night to Unite encourages residents to host a neighborhood gathering in order to meet each other, prevent crime and increase community safety. Representatives from law enforcement, emergency medical and fire services will visit the neighborhood parties.

"Neighbors watch out for each other’s children, problems can be resolved peacefully, and the presence of drug related crimes can be prevented," local officials said, in a news release. "Night to Unite is a great opportunity to get the neighbors together, build positive relationships with law enforcement and celebrate our community!"
