Snap Fitness Shutters for Good

The owner cited several challenges, including the success of Northfield's YMCA.

A 24-hour Northfield fitness center shuttered last week after just five years in business.

Northfield News reported the closure on Thursday and interviewed the location's owner, Bronko Lemke. He referenced the end of his five-year agreement with Snap as a franchisee, conclusion of the lease agreement, and impact of the YMCA's opening as some of the reasons for the permanent closure.

He also said he was looking for a new space.

“I wanted to find a space I could make an agreement with for one year,” Lemke said, in the article. “And at the end of that year, if I am failing, lock the doors. But if things are going well, let’s make a new agreement to move forward. No one was willing to do that.”
