Deadline Extended for Daughter and Dad Princess Ball: Today in Oakdale

Here are five items to take note of today in Oakdale.

Princess Ball

Oakdale on Monday announced that it has extended the registration deadline for an upcoming daddy-daughter dance.

β€œPrincesses ages 3 to 8 are invited to join Cinderella and her friends, Mulan and Rapunzel, for an enchanting evening of dancing, crafts, refreshments, and princess fun,” reads part of the release.

Each girl will receive her own personalized tote bag, jewelry craft project, and β€œroyal” gift.

The event will be held from 6:30-8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 18, at the Oakdale Discovery Center, 4444 Hadley Ave.

The cost is $27 per couple. There is no residency requirement to participate.

Register by Oct. 17 at the Discovery Center or at www.oakdalefun.com.

Photo Exhibit

β€œHidden in Plain View: A Touring Photo Exhibit” will be on display at the Oakdale Library during November and December.

The photographs are by Amy Anderson, Michael Dvorak, Peter Latner and Tom Wik.

β€œThe photographers have captured the beauty, humor and poignancy of our everyday lives here in the Midwest,” reads a release from Washington County Library. β€œThrough their art, they encourage us to look at our surroundings from a new, intimate perspective.”

The exhibit was organized by MELSA, the Metropolitan Library Service Agency, and is funded with money from Minnesota’s Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.

Condo Loan

Oakdale Mayor Carmen Sarrack last week toured a condo where several major projects were completed thanks to a loan facilitated by the city.
