Local Businesses Host Fundraiser to Support Family Whose Home Was Destroyed in Fire

The Boler Dash and Bash fundraiser will feature a 5K run/walk, brunch, a silent auction and firefighters from the Oakdale Fire Department. The event will raise money for a family whose home was destroyed in a fire last month.

Local businesses are coming together to host a fundraiser for a family whose home was destroyed in a fire on June 29.Β 

The Boler Dash and Bash β€” featuring a 5K walk/run and silent auction β€” will take place on Saturday (July 28) in support of the Boler family. The 5K will begin at 8 a.m. outside of followed by brunch and a silent auction at .Β 

Oakdale resident Taylor Stiff and Tenacity Fitness owner Chris Hesse-Withbroe teamed up to organize the fundraiser for the Bolers. Simona Boler is a personal trainer at Tenacity Fitness.Β

Four different fire departments β€” including the Oakdale Fire Department β€” fought the blaze at the Boler's home in Maplewood, but were unable to save the house. Firefighters from the Oakdale Fire Department will be showcasing some fire trucks at the 5K race and will give demonstrations on fire safety, Hesse-Withbroe said.

Registration for the 5K race is $25. All race participants will receive entrance into the Bash portion of the event. Following the race will be brunch and a silent auction at 9 a.m. at Sgt. Peppers. For those not interested in running in the 5K can purchase tickets for the brunch and silent auction entrance ($15 per person for those older than 10 years old and $10 for anyone under 10 years old).Β
