‘Mysterious Ailments,’ Bread Knife, Screaming Call: Oakdale Police Blotter

Here is a selection of incidents recently responded to by the Oakdale Police Department.

The following is a summary of incidents that occurred in Oakdale between March 6 and March 12 as provided by the Oakdale Police Department.

  • A man reported that he received a voicemail and text message from a man who threatened to kill him and slit his throat. The complainant did not know the man.
  • A man reported to police that he was suffering from “mysterious medical ailments.” The man told officers that he believes someone put a “black evil” on him. The complainant told police it was a cultural belief and wanted it documented. 

March 7

  • A woman reported that her neighbor followed her home on Granada Avenue and was driving too close to her car. The woman said that her neighbor was driving about 1 to 2 feet behind her car.
  • Police responded to a report from Best Western regarding a domestic assault. An employee called 911 about a male who was in the lobby and wanted to turn himself in for choking his girlfriend. Officers discovered the man had a warrant out from Ramsey County for his arrest. The girlfriend had visible injuries and reported an assault. The man denied assaulting the woman.  
  • Police responded to a burglary report on the 2300 block of Helena Road. The complainant said that someone entered her home and took $500 worth of cash and electronics. Police found no forced entry. 

March 8

  • Police received an open-line 911 call where they heard screaming in the background. Police went to the location but found nothing.
  • A woman reported that her boyfriend allegedly grabbed her by the arm and swung her into a block wall. The boyfriend said nothing happened. 

March 9 

  • A man reported that his fiancée intentionally cut him on the neck with a bread knife during an argument. The man had a visible mark on his neck. The woman denied cutting her fiancé.  The woman was arrested and booked in Washington County Jail.
  • Police were called to the Myth Night Club in Maplewood to assist the Maplewood Police Department in a report of “shots fired.” One victim was on the ground. Oakdale PD assisted in looking for the suspect’s vehicle and crowd-control. 

March 12

  • A woman reported that her husband took $35 from her purse. Police spoke with the husband, who denied taking the money.
