Woodbury Leadership Academy (WLA) is a tuition-free, K-12 public charter school where high expectations and success matter to all! Our learning environment and school community promotes academic achievement for students in grades K-12, as well as personal integrity, equity and a dedication to value and serve others. Our school is committed to our students’ long term success. We use inquiry based learning by teaching the Core Knowledge Curriculum — building strong skills in math, reading, writing, history, science and technology. We also have a strong character education program to ensure students develop exceptional leadership skills. The character education program includes service learning projects and a focus of five core virtues - respect, responsibility, perseverance, gratitude and humanity. WLA uses the rigorous and classical Core Knowledge Curriculum to build strong foundational knowledge across subjects, promoting academic excellence and equity. By ensuring all students share common knowledge, we can narrow achievement gaps and build critical thinking and long-term success. An Oakdale man was found dead Tuesday morning at the 7700 block of 24th Street. The man's wife told officers he went out for a jog at about 5:50 a.m. Tuesday, May 7. There does not appear to be anything suspicious about the death, said Michelle Stark, Oakdale Police spokeswoman. The 48-year-old was found unresponsive in the street, according to an Oakdale police report. Emergency crews arrived and found that he had no pulse and was beyond life-saving efforts, the report says. The man's wife told police he had no known medical conditions. The body was released to the Ramsey County Medical Examiner.
