Oakdale Man Sentenced for Head-Butting Wife

The victim had a fractured nose.

An Oakdale man was recently sentenced to jail time on an assault conviction stemming from a December 2010 incident in which he head-butted his wife.

The wife of Jeffrey Joseph Krieger, 41, called 911 at about 11 p.m. on Dec. 31, 2010, and told the dispatcher: “He broke my nose,” according to the criminal complaint.

Police were sent to a home on Woodduck Place in Woodbury and found the victim shaking and crying. She told officers that she and Krieger, her estranged husband, had gotten into an argument and he grabbed her by the shoulders and head-butted her “extremely hard,” the complaint says.

She also told police that as she was calling 911 Krieger began to hit himself in the face with both fists and said, “Look at what you’re making me do,” according to the complaint. She told officers that she believed he was doing so to report that she had hit him.

The victim, who was later found to have a fractured nose, told police she was terrified and had been abused in the past, the complaint says.
