Oakdale Woman Killed In Pedestrian Hit-And-Run Collision

MAPLEWOOD, MN —A woman from Oakdale died Sunday night in a pedestrian hit-and-run in Maplewood and authorities continue to search for the silver Mitsubishi Outlander they believe was involved in the collision, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

Eri Nakamura, 65, was transported to Regions Hospital in Saint Paul, where she succumbed to her injuries, authorities said

According to the police investigation, just before 8 p.m., Nakamura was walking on the shoulder of Highway 120, heading southbound just south of 5th street, when she was struck by the SUV. The vehicle left the scene.

On Monday, MSP said it was looking for a 2015 to 2020 Mitsubishi Outlander, with front-end and driver's side damage.

MSP was assisted at the scene by police and fire/EMS crews from Oakdale and Maplewood and by the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
