Robbinsdale Armstrong High School freshman Sarah Sontowski has been selected to attend The First Tee Life Skills and Leadership Academy in San Diego, Calif., from July 24-30.
Sontowski, a member of the First Tee of Three Rivers Park District, will join more than 90 participants of The First Tee, ages 13-17, to participate in the national event.
The Academy, hosted by The First Tee of San Diego, Sycuan Golf Resort and San Diego State University, provides participants valuable character education and leadership instruction during the week-long event. Participants will have the opportunity to develop and hone skills to become leaders in their chapters, schools and communities while experiencing championship golf, career exploration and dorm living.

“This is a great opportunity for Sarah,” said Brian Pabst, Director of Instruction for the Three Rivers Golf Academy, which is an official First Tee Chapter. “She is certainly deserving of this honor. Not only is Sarah a great golfer, but she really represents the life skills and character that The First Tee is all about.”
At The First Tee, life and golf skills are seamlessly integrated into each experience. The First Tee Life Skills and Leadership Academy is focused on recognizing and rewarding exceptional teen participants of The First Tee for their accomplishments while enhancing skills that will help on and off the golf course.
