Are you looking for fun activities and events this weekend for the whole family?
Here's a few events happening Nov. 10 and 11:
What: Interfaith Outreach and Community Partners' 2012 Sleep Out Kickoff

When: 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10
Where: Klapprich Park, 101 Minnetonka Ave. N. in Wayzata

Cost: FREE
Why go: It's the 17th annual Sleep Out season and the kickoff rally is Nov. 10. Join Kim Insley from KARE 11 who will emcee the event, which will include food, live music, hip-hop dancing and activities for all ages. The Sleep Out is IOCP’s annual campaign to create hope and long-term stability for 1,700 struggling families. Everyone is welcome to gather pledges and attend the community-wide Sleep Out afterward.
What: Paint the Pavement 5K Run/Walk
When: 9 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 10 (on-site registration begins 7:30 a.m.)
Where: Hilde Performance Center
Cost: $17 pre-registration and $20 on-site per person; free for children ages 9 and under
Why go: This is a family friendly race and is open to walkers and runners alike, so whether you're a first timer or veteran racer, come out and pound the pavement. Fee includes long sleeve t-shirt. Proceeds go to Plymouth Arts Council. (Register: 763-509-5200 or www.active.com.)
What: "The Sound of Music" fall musical production
When: 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10
Where: Wayzata High School auditorium
Cost: $15 for adults, $12 for senior citizens and $10 for students ($12 at the door)
Why go: The musical features actors ranging in age from 5-18 from all schools in the district making it a truly a community-wide production. The musical tells the story of Maria and the Trapp Family. It moves from Maria's postulant days at Nonneberg Abbey, to her days with the Trapp children, and the terror of the Nazi Annexation of Austria. (Remember there are two casts performing on different nights.)
What: "Seussical Jr." Maple Grove Junior High fall musical production
When: 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10
Where: Maple Grove Junior High School, 7000 Hemlock Ln N, Maple Grove
Cost: $6 for students, $8 for adults
Why go: The Cat in the Hat tells the story of Horton, an elephant who discovers a speck of dust containing Whos, including Jojo, a Who child who gets in trouble for thinking too many "thinks." Horton faces a double challenge--not only must he protect the Whos from a world of naysayers and dangers, but he must guard an abandoned egg, left to his care by the irresponsible Mayzie La Bird.
What: Plymouth Lions Club Annual Waffle Breakfast
When: 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 11
Where: Plymouth Creek Center
Cost: Adults--$7 and children under age 5--$4
Why go: Proceeds of the breakfast will benefit Interfaith Outreach to help families in crisis. The waffles are soooo good! All you can eat. Bring the kids along for a nice Sunday morning treat. Meet or reconnect with friends and neighbors. See you there!
