Letter: Supports Terri Bonoff For Senate District 44

To the Editor-

Many people are familiar with our State Senator, Terri Bonoff - if for no reason but the fact that she has an inordinate amount of signs in our neighborhood. But what many do not know is WHY Terri Bonoff has all these signs, or, why she has the support of so many in our neighborhood.

Bonoff is a Democrat, but it is no mistake that she has been endorsed by a slew of strong Republicans. She is the ONLY Democrat in a contested race to be endorsed by both the TwinWest and Minnesota Chambers of Commerce; she has the support of former Gov. Arne Carlson; and she was recently awarded the prestigious, "Guardian of Small Business" Award by the National Federation of Independent Business.

As a Republican myself, I wondered why Terri won these endorsements over her opponent. Was it her background? She had a 20-year career as a Business Executive at Navarre Corp (we worked with her there), and TonkaToys. Was it her record? Terri often votes in favor of small business and is a leader in ed reform. Maybe. But most of all, I think it's the fact that Terri has a proven ability to work with both parties to get things done.

We support Terri because she focuses her efforts on making a difference, not staking a claim.
