Man Charged with Strangling Plymouth Woman During Argument
Police say Stanley Fadayomi Jide choked the victim to the point where she was unable to breathe.

A Brooklyn Park man has been charged with strangling a Plymouth woman to the point where she was unable to breathe.
Stanley Fadayomi Jide, 52, is charged with domestic assault by strangulation, a felony with a maximum penalty of three years in prison and a $5,000 fine.
According to the criminal complaint, signed by Plymouth Police Investigator Darren McGann, police were called to a Plymouth home Aug. 24 on a report of a domestic assault.

Officers found the victim, who told them that she had argued with Jide, her boyfriend, earlier in the evening. During the course of the argument, Jide put his hands around her neck and strangled her to the point where she couldn’t breathe, she told police.
A witness told police that she was asleep in the house, but woke up when she heard the victim screaming, “He is going to kill me!” The witness said she saw Jide holding the victim down on a bed with both hands around her neck.

Jide admitted that he had argued with the victim and that he put his arms around her neck, according to the complaint.
Police noted that the victim was having trouble breathing while she spoke to them. Her injuries were photographed, and emergency medical personnel examined her.
Jide remains in the Hennepin County Jail on a $10,000 bond. An omnibus hearing in his case is scheduled Sept. 28 in Hennepin County District Court.
