According to the criminal complaint compiled by Plymouth Police Investigator Molly Lynch, police were called to the early the morning of Jan. 29 on a report of an assault.

Officers found three brothers, including Carlson, in one of the hotel rooms; all were “extremely intoxicated,” according to the complaint. During the officers’ investigation into the reported assault, Carlson became “extremely uncooperative,” calling police a series of profane names, the complaint says.

Officers learned that Carlson had an outstanding warrant in Becker County on DWI charges and arrested him. As they escorted him to the squad car, Carlson threatened to spit on them. When one of the officers got into the front seat, he found saliva on the squad car’s computer, so he put a spit hood on Carlson, who was in the back seat, the complaint says.

As the officer completed paperwork before taking Carlson to the Hennepin County Jail, Carlson threatened to rape the officer’s daughter and sons, saying he would tell them that it was “their daddy’s fault,” according to the complaint.

Although the officer told Carlson repeatedly that he has no children, Carlson insisted that he did, saying he would find them “no matter where they lived” and rape them, the complaint says.
