Joseph Carney, 92, of Plymouth passed away Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2012. He was born May 18, 1920. He is preceded in death by wife, Mary; sisters, Elizabeth and Katherine; daughter-in-law, Mary Ellen Carney. He is survived by sons, Stephen Carney and Mark (Heidi) Carney; daughter, Elizabeth (Jonathan) Gross; grandchildren, Joslyn, Mara, Zachary, Brianna, Joseph and Anthony; great-grandchildren, Blake and Miles Carney. Joe was an officer in the Marines serving in WWII in Okinawa. He pioneered television in Minneapolis in 1953 until his retirement in 1989. Entombment is at Resurrection Mausoleum in Mendota Heights. Memorials are preferred to the American Cancer Society. Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 26, at the Gearty-Delmore Plymouth Chapel. Funeral service is 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, at the Church of St. Anne 200 Hamel Road in Hamel.
