Plymouth Man Charged with Felony DWI
Authorities say Alondre Ramone Davis was driving 20 miles over the speed limit on icy roads last weekend when he was stopped for a DWI.

A Plymouth man has been charged with drunken driving after authorities say he drove too fast on icy roads last weekend.
Alondre Ramone Davis, 30, is charged with first-degree driving while impaired, a felony with a maximum penalty of seven years in prison and a $14,000 fine.
According to the criminal complaint compiled by Minnesota State Patrol Sgt. Eric Clausen, a state trooper was running a radar check in Minneapolis early on the morning of March 5 when he clocked Davis’ car traveling at 79 mph, which was over the posted 60 mph speed limit.

The trooper stopped Davis’ car and knocked on his window. When Davis rolled down the window, the trooper smelled a strong odor of alcohol and saw an open can of beer in the car’s console.
Davis told the trooper that his license had been revoked, according to the complaint.

The trooper asked Davis to step out of the car. Although he denied drinking any alcohol, his speech was slurred and he was swaying from side to side, the complaint said.
The trooper administered a preliminary breath test, which registered .148, above the legal blood-alcohol limit of .08.
Davis’ driver’s license has been revoked three times previously for alcohol-related convictions, once in 2007 and twice in 2009.
Davis is free on a $30,000 bond. An omnibus hearing in his case is scheduled April 6 in Hennepin County District Court.
