Plymouth Man Reports Burglary, Gets Arrested

Sometimes one crime can lead to discovering another.

According to a Plymouth Police report, officers responded to the report of a residential burglary at 12:25 a.m. May 11 on the 16700 block of 32nd Avenue North.

The value loss of items stolen and/or damaged was about $4,000.

But while the police were in the home, they also found something else.

Officers located a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia and arrested the man who lived there.

From May 10-16 the Plymouth Police Department tallied 74 incidents, which included the following:

• One assault in which one juvenile female punched another juvenile female in the back of the head.

• Two domestic assaults, one of which a 15-year-old female was arrested.

• One commercial burglary

• Ten residential burglaries, including a $1,800 laptop, $780 golf clubs and several appliances.

• Three controlled substances found

• Six criminal damages to property

• One criminal sexual misconduct which included two juveniles.

• One DOC reported

• Four DWIs

• Two reports of fraud

• Five harassments reported

• Four hit and runs

• One underage drinking/liquor violation

• Two motor vehicle thefts, one vehicle worth $3,000 was stolen May 11 from the driveway of a home on the 4800 block of Orchid Lane North and another was stolen May 10 from a parking lot of an apartment building on the 2500 block of Nathan Lane North, but that vehicle was later recovered in another city.

• One order violation

• One tampering with a motor vehicle violation

• One terroristic threat happened May 12 at a business on the 3000 block of Campus Drive; a threatening voicemail was received and the case is under investigation.  

• Sixteen thefts, including a $939 laptop, a $650 cell phone from an unattended purse at a restaurant, a $450 camera at a garage sale, several calculators taken out of students’ backpacks in class and more than $600 in baby formula from a store.

• Twelve thefts from vehicles, including six catalytic converters, four tires and rims and $1,800 worth of golf clubs.
